To move around the city along the tourist sights in Porto, the tour bus can be a good choice. There is a jump on/jump off system and several bus tours. One tour goes along the coast.Three tours together was €17 p.p (2008). Take a sweater/coat with you because the temperature in Porto is often not that warm and the open bus is windy. Personally i wouldn't use the tour service again. The historic centre is by far the most interesting part of Porto and can be explored best on foot.
The Dom Luís Bridge is a famous attraction in Porto. The arch bridge has a lenght of 172 meteres and spans the Douro River between Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia.
Nice terraces along the Douro river with views at the Dom Luis Bridge. Drinks had very reasonable prices.
- metro line Violeta connects the airport with the city. Travel time is around 30 minutes. Price is €1.35.
- We arrived in the late evening. A taxi from the airport to our hotel downtown was €22.
The historic centre of Porto has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
